CLASSES

Our classes are designed to really hasten the onboarding process for new users ranging from security setup to designing queries, reports, and visuals and interacting with the results. Each class includes a comprehensive agenda, manual and certificate of completion.

Understanding User Security

Participants will learn the intricacies of Informer 5 security and data governance. Learn the best practices of setting up security and understanding the difference between owning and sharing content. The focus will be on setting up Teams, Users, Role Permissions, Mapping Sets, sharing Datasources and Datasets. This class is geared toward Informer Administrators.

Interacting with Query Results

Participants will learn how to interact with data, once access to the query and/or reports has been granted. This includes actions, filters, column formatting, visuals, and interacting with reports that have been shared with you (Dashboards, Comparison Boards, Data Views) Audience: Users who have Datasets and/or reports shared to them. This class is strictly for interacting with pre-built Datasets and Reports.

Designing Queries and Reports

Participants will learn how to design queries, including adding fields, criteria, and flow steps to create a Dataset or Ad-hoc Query. Participants will learn how to use Discover to create simple Visuals as well as creating Jobs to refresh Datasets and sharing content. This class is strictly for creating queries and reports.

Configuring Visuals and Reports

Participants will learn how to build content from Datasets. This includes how to configure the different types of visuals available in Informer 5 and how to create Dashboards, Comparison Boards, and Data Views reports from the content in Datasets. Users will not be building Datasets in the class.

Javascript for Calculated Fields

In this class users will learn basics of Javascript to extend their reporting capabilities by adding Calcuated Fields and Powerscripts. Calculated Fields use query data, literal values, or other data to do calculations but that is not all they do. This class will also help users understand how to write Calculated Fields using JavaScript.

Administration and System Setup

In this class, participants will learn how to setup Informer including Default Settings, Email setup, Domain Repository Setup, User fields, Codes, and much more. This is a 2-hour class. All classes are scheduled in Eastern Standard Time (EST). Prerequisites: Needs to have administrator or super-user access

Advanced Flow Steps and Powerscripts

In this class, students will learn how to use the Flow Steps and create advanced Power Scripts. Flow Steps allow users to add new Fields and modify existing ones based on results from the Query or user input. Users will learn to create more advanced Power Scripts from what they learned in the Javascript for Calculated Fields Class.

Robin joined Entrinsik in 2012 and currently leads the Informer Client Services department. As Director, she provides leadership to the team offering technical support, training and consulting services to clients and prospective clients, as well as partners.

Randall finished his Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science in 2013 and joined Entrinsik shortly thereafter. During that time, he has provided clients with technical support, consulting, plugins, and training. He espcially enjoys face-to-face interaction through trainings and conferences.

Cameron started with Entrinsik in 2016 and currently serves as the Customer Service and Support Team Lead. Graduating from UNC Chapel Hill, Cameron brings over a decade of customer service experience helping everyone from students to CIOs. When not at the office, Cameron enjoys board games and collecting art.

Kevin has a college degree in Computer Science and has worked in the Higher Education workspace for many years, including nine years at Jenzabar as a programmer and consultant, at a private university for 16 years as Associate IT Director that managed the Ellucian Colleague infrastructure and staff until coming to Entrinsik in early 2019 as an Implementation Specialist.Kevin and his wife Teresa, have three boys and five grandchildren. He lives with his family just outside of the Pigeon Forge, TN area.

Regina is a seasoned trainer and course developer with over 25 years of experience in Higher Education. Before joining Entrinsik in 2019, Regina worked supporting Ellucian’s Colleague Student System and other Student System applications. Regina holds a Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems and a Master’s degree in Organizational Leadership and Learning. Originally from Guatemala, she now lives in South Florida with her husband Ricardo and three children.
