Reflections from ICON 2013

Posted on October 7th 2013

Here at Entrinsik, we’ve returned  to our Raleigh home after another successful Informer User Conference! We had a great time with our customers, partners, and guests at Myrtle Beach, and we would like to thank everyone who attended for coming out and helping to make this year’s ICON such an amazing event. We would also like to extend a special congratulations to Kevin Underwood from Integrated Rentals, who got engaged at the conference! Congratulations to Kevin and his new fiance!

In case you missed ICON this year, here’s a recap:

Informer Product Manager Andrew Morovati presents new features in Informer v.4.4

On Monday, September 30th, we started the conference with opening remarks by Entrinsik CEO Doug Leupen, and a presentation of all of the great new features coming up in the next release of Informer Reporting & Dashboards by CTO Brad Leupen and Informer Product Manager Andrew Morovati. “I’m really excited about the new features coming out,” said one conference attendee, “especially the import/export function; it’s going to make a huge difference.”

Over the next few days, the conference center was full of attendees from multiple industries, states, and countries, gathering to attend breakout sessions covering a variety of Informer related topics. After one popular session on Calculated Columns led by Senior R&D Engineer Andrea Vega ended, one NCCC member commented, “I’ve loved Andrea’s sessions and I’ve followed her through the conference. They’ve been so helpful!”

Conference attendees enjoy a cocktail reception on Monday evening

On Monday evening, Entrinsik hosted a cocktail reception for all attendees on the poolside lawn overlooking the beautiful Myrtle Beach coastline. Guests mingled and networked over hors d’oeuvres, and had the chance to discuss the previous and upcoming session topics with Entrinsik staff.

On Tuesday afternoon, Entrinsik VP of Marketing Sharon Shelton presented the 2013 Informer BI Use Case Awards, awarding prizes to the top ten submissions demonstrating the best organizational uses of Informer. Following the awards, grand prize winner Kara Bosch of Central Piedmont Community College gave an excellent presentation of her submission, and many of the remaining winners also gave great presentations throughout the remainder of the conference.

Entrinsik welcomed two special presenters at this year’s conference, both of whom gave wonderful presentations. CEO of Pick Cloud, Inc., Mark Pick, was the keynote speaker this year, and even gave away an Apple TV device to one lucky winner during his session on Cloud Computing. Epicom CEO Bill Harrison gave an inspiring presentation on Informer and SugarCRM to rave reviews from all who attended.

The Entrinsik team had a wonderful time at this year’s ICON, and we hope that everyone who attended was as happy with the outcome as we were! A special thank you again to our supportive customers, our amazing partners, and everyone who helped make this year’s Informer User Conference the best one yet! We’ll see you all next year!
